People have been left seriously freaked out after seeing what various animals look like without hair.
When you think about it, the human brain very often finds comfort in the known – which makes seeing anything unusual or out of the ordinary feel a little icky.
And this was exactly what happened on Reddit a couple of days ago when someone decided to upload a series of images and videos showing various animals without their fur.

Now, you may be thinking… ‘surely a bunch of shaved animals can’t look that weird?’ But that’s where you’re wrong. Very wrong.
Featuring the likes of bears, chimpanzees, parrots, owls, racoons and hedgehogs, the video is really something to behold. Take a look at the clip below:
Now, it might be the creators decision to use some creepy-ass music to soundtrack the clip, but we can’t help but feel like we’re looking at something we’re not supposed to see.
It’s almost like walking in on a bunch of animals in their underwear.
The naked birds were clearly the most shocking of the lot, with several people agreeing that plucking them of their feathers made the creatures look a lot more aggressive.
“The owl was the strangest. Like some kinda alien. Freaky,” one person replied to the clip, while a second added: “I knew the birds would be the goddamn freakiest.”

“Why does hairless parrot look like he’s ready to fight me,” a third person added.
The comments didn’t end there either, with another user remarking: “I don’t know what I was expecting for the Owl… but not that.”
It’s also worth noting that parrots can often pluck their feathers following periods of stress or boredom, which means that if you’ve got one of those little guys at home you need to be making sure they’re stimulated.
The shaven hedgehog was another standout amongst commenters, with several people comparing the poor creature to an unfortunate piece of male anatomy.
“Hedgehog is scrotum,” one person wrote, to which another agreed: “Poor little hedgescrotum.”

Meanwhile others were quick to question the whole point of shaving the animals in the first place, with one person writing: “Who is running around shaving all these animals???”
“Does anybody know why these animals are being shaved? Because of some surgery,” a second person wondered.
“Imagine how freaked out they are when they see us,” a third joked.
Let’s just hope our cute and fuzzy animals don’t evolve to become hairless, otherwise we’ll there’ll be a rise in demand for fur coats
People are freaking out after seeing a video which claims to show Bigfoot.
The nine-second clip was posted to TikTok, where it has received some 1.2 million views.
The figure was sitting under a tree (Tiktok/@e_man580)
In it, a figure can be seen sitting underneath a tree in the forest a short distance away from the camera.
It has fur a similar colour to that of an Orangutan, and posture like that of a human.
The short clip sees the figure look over to the camera, showing an ape-like face, before the person filming appears to run away and the video ends.
While many clips claiming to be of the mythical creature, Bigfoot tend to be quite blurry, so people were left reeling as this one was much clearer.
Many people were sceptical of the clip, though some appeared to be convinced by it.
They took to the comments on social media to share their thoughts.
One joked: “It can’t be him, the REAL Bigfoot is blurry, haven’t yall seen the pics.”
Meanwhile a second posted: “You know what? why not this world is insane right now so why can’t Bigfoot be chilling under a random tree.”
Someone else seemed convinced by the video, commenting: “I zoomed in and its face it might be the scariest/realest Bigfoot capture I’ve ever seen. The second it looks at you terrifying.”
Others were less than convinced, with one saying: “Where can I purchase one of these costumes?”
The video’s poster replied: “I don’t believe it’s a costume.”
Some people pointed out that the footage looked a lot like a particular Bigfoot costume, which is available to buy online.

This is the Jack Links costume, and has similar colour fur and facial features to the figure shown in the video.
When asked where they had shot the footage, the person who posted the video said it had been in the Parallel Forest in Lawton, Oklahoma.
One person pointed out how the figure had looked in the video, saying: “Not the arm rolls looking just like sleeves…”
Meanwhile someone else joked: “I wonder if they were doing a commercial.”
There have been many anecdotal claims of people having seen Bigfoot over the years.
Nonetheless, Bigfoot is generally regarded as falling within cryptozoology, a pseudoscience which looks at animals and creatures which do not exist.
Other examples include the Loch Ness Monster or the Yeti.
Bigfoot also has some origins in Canadian folklore, and has since grown into a cultural icon.
The internet is a funny old place. One minute you’re researching something for a college assignment, the next you’re having a little browse through TikTok and all of a sudden, you’re hit with the bizarre reality of horse sweat.
Okay, so that last one is a little bit niche, but it’s true that a video is doing the rounds on social media revealing what horse sweat actually looks like, and if you’re not in equestrian circles, you might get a bit of a shock.
A clip shared by the X account @natureisamazing shows what happened to a horse after it was briefly separated from its paddock friend, causing the animal to sweat with anxiety.
Alongside the clip, the account wrote: “I learned horse sweat is foamy waaaay too late in life.. Petrified.”
During times of stress or over exertion, much like humans, horses produce sweat. However, thanks to a protein called latherin, which reduces the surface tension of water, horse sweat can appear white and foamy, which actually helps the moisture move away from the animal’s skin towards its fur.

Although the sweat is less than pretty to look at if you’re not used to being around horses, it’s actually a pretty cool biological tool which helps equestrian animals to cool down significantly quicker – necessary given the amount of exertion necessary for a working horse.
But while horse sweat maintains an important function, it also contains a whole load of useful electrolytes, including sodium, chloride and potassium, as well as small amounts of magnesium and calcium. These are all essential for muscle function, nerve transmission and balancing fluids, which means it’s best to avoid excessive sweating where possible to avoid the animals becoming deficient in any of these much-needed electrolytes.
That’s why it’s super important to make sure horses are kept hydrated, as up to 75 percent of their body weight is actually made up of water.
Everyday really is a school day when it comes to social media, so now the next time you see a horse covered in ‘foam’ you’ll know exactly what is going on.
